A Tisket A Tasket
Opening March 4, 2016 6-9pm
NCECA reception March 17, 2016 6-9pm

Through combining ceramic and non-ceramic processes, A Tisket A Tasket raises questions of how and why we assign value to objects. Thackston and Six have carefully curated a variety of supposedly “outdated” objects for the viewer to search through, while listening to a musical set of clues. The viewer is asked to find the object the artists have deemed most valuable and take it home. Part scavenger hunt, part installation, A Tisket A Tasket asks the audience to be an active participant in the task of placing significance and meaning on objects. In this way, the work reminds us to ask ourselves how value is imbued in a thing by both its makers and its seekers.
